We are hiring Full Time Patient Transporters for 1st and 2nd shift at UPMC Altoona in Altoona, PA. Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
Job Responsibilities:- Transport patients, specimens, supplies, medical equipment, and patient-related items safely and accurately.
- Verify correct patient identification using two patient identifiers and compare with assignment information.
- Ensure safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their destination using proper equipment.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients.
- Notify nursing personnel, clinical staff, technicians, or receptionists upon arrival of a patient.
- Collect and return transportation equipment to proper storage place.
- Respond to emergency situations according to hospital policy.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Experience in the janitorial industry a plus.
- Medical cleaning a plus.
- Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening, and Drug Test required.
