Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and production departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and kit materials for production departments
  • Safely carry out warehouse processes by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instruction Documents (WID), and work orders
  • Work in a fast-paced regulated warehouse environment, receiving and filling orders in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
  • Use tools and equipment such as computers, handheld scanners, tape guns, calculators, measuring tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, and swing reaches
  • Maintain accurate inventory in all designated warehouses and locations
  • Ensure work areas are kept safe, clean, and organized
  • Use strong attention to detail to ensure products meet quality standards
  • Prepare and account for all material movement documentation and update inventory management system accordingly
  • Actively participate in Practical Process Improvements (PPI), Lean, and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Effectively work as part of a team in the warehouse process and assist with training and mentoring co-workers
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year material handler experience (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and other similar equipment or obtain a certification through company training
  • Exhibit good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand written materials that include words, pictures, and numbers
  • Ability to count items, add and multiply using a calculator, and measure using a ruler or measuring tape
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving abilities
