Construction Materials Testing Technician

We provide comprehensive assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services that help mitigate risks and ensure the quality and safety of construction projects.
Role Overview
The Engineering Technician will engage in a variety of testing procedures, project-specific observations, and site evaluations under close supervision and established protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a range of testing and site assessments following detailed guidelines.
- Operate testing apparatus and perform evaluations (e.g., soil, concrete) while compiling data for reporting.
- Utilize construction drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide work.
- Observe site activities and execute tasks according to established methods.
- Document findings meticulously and provide preliminary interpretations of results.
- Maintain comprehensive records of test outcomes.
- Employ mathematical skills to analyze test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure personal and team safety.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics, calculator use, and computer applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret work plans accurately.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Capability to lift and maneuver weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds frequently, with occasional assistance for heavier loads.
- Ability to receive detailed auditory information and distinguish sounds.
- Occasional kneeling and squatting required.
- Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional climbing may be necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience in field or laboratory testing of construction materials is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Certifications such as ACI/ICC/FDOT are desirable.
