Job Summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented students to join our Summer Internship Program in Construction Engineering. As a construction intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable skills in construction management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret construction drawings to ensure constructability and compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure quality, project schedule adherence, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with the preparation of field material requisitions.
  • Conduct site visits to produce daily reports of work and/or subcontractor activities.
  • Coordinate input to the quantity tracking and progress database used for measuring project completion.
  • Monitor actual cost versus budget.
  • Prepare punch lists to track incomplete work.
  • Attend subcontractor bid walks and assist in bid evaluations to support subcontract award.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety awareness and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest safety standards.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project sites.
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
  • Prior co-op or internship experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Practical work experience in a construction environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in multiple languages (preferably Spanish, Arabic, or French).
