Position Overview:

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in providing specialized therapy to students with identified speech and language challenges. This position involves working directly with students who have been designated as having a primary or secondary disability related to speech or language impairment. The SLP will engage in both individual and small group sessions, tailoring interventions to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct therapy services to students in a supportive educational environment.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech and language capabilities, utilizing various evaluation tools as necessary.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing detailed reports in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Assist in the development of relevant IEP goals and objectives in conjunction with educational staff.
  • Support the use of both high-tech and low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • Participate in regular consultations with clinical directors and other professionals to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid SLP license to practice in the relevant state.
  • Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting feeding and swallowing evaluations is a plus.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to student support.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

As a provider of services funded by Medicare and Medicaid, compliance with health-related requirements is mandatory.
