Neuro Trauma Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with a specialization in Neuro Trauma to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Med Surg RN in Neuro Trauma, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured patients with neurologic injuries, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries.
About the UnitThe 6 North unit is a 42-bed multi-specialty area committed to being the innovative leader in Neuroscience, Orthopedic and Trauma services. Our unit is equipped with advanced monitoring devices and perfected with an environment conducive to healing. We take pride in being a Comprehensive Stroke Unit and a Level 4 Epilepsy unit, the highest levels that can be attained.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care to critically ill and injured patients with neurologic injuries
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and manage patient conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and spinal cord injuries
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit performance
- Current RN License in good standing with state licensing board
- BSN required OR enrollment and completion of BSN within 5 years
- Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience in an acute care setting
- BLS certification (ACLS within 3 months of hire)
