This Inpatient Coding Specialist role is a fully remote opportunity with TEKsystems, requiring 3+ years of DRG/PCS coding/inpatient coding experience and an active CCS certification.

As an expert-level coder, you will work on inpatient coding projects for regional and university facilities, utilizing Epic EMR and 3M encoder software. Your duties will include applying codes, defending audits, and writing queries to determine the best way to code clinical services for insurance purposes.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-acuity cases, trauma, rehabilitation, and long-term acute care. They will also be skilled at reviewing and questioning CDI queries, as well as shifting between regional and university facilities to support different hospitals.

A Day in the Role:

  • Logging into work queues to start applying codes
  • Defending own audits and writing queries for additional information from physicians
  • Reviewing and questioning CDI queries where necessary
