Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize facility areas, including cages, racks, pens, and animal rooms, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Transport litter, feed, waste materials, equipment, and supplies to designated areas as required.
  • Prepare animal caging units, water bottles, feed, and other necessary items according to SOPs.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance duties connected with necropsy procedures.
  • Clean laboratory/experimental areas according to SOPs.
  • Monitor rooms for temperature, humidity, and necessary light cycles according to SOPs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting, carrying, standing, and repetitive motions.
  • Lighting, heating, ventilation, odors, noise, animals, infectious diseases, and danger.
