Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize facility areas, including cages, racks, pens, and animal rooms, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Transport litter, feed, waste materials, equipment, and supplies to designated areas as required.
- Prepare animal caging units, water bottles, feed, and other necessary items according to SOPs.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance duties connected with necropsy procedures.
- Clean laboratory/experimental areas according to SOPs.
- Monitor rooms for temperature, humidity, and necessary light cycles according to SOPs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- No previous experience required.
- Ability to receive and follow instructions.
- Ability to read and write.
- American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification preferred, but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Lifting, carrying, standing, and repetitive motions.
- Lighting, heating, ventilation, odors, noise, animals, infectious diseases, and danger.
