Role Responsibilities:

As a Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Counselor, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive rehabilitative services through our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP). Your contributions will not only aid in the recovery of participants but also enhance your professional development in the field.

  • Facilitate therapeutic programming and conduct both group and individual counseling sessions.
  • Implement established program curricula effectively, utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
  • Engage with participants regularly, reinforcing program expectations and encouraging active participation.
  • Collaborate with participants to create and execute personalized treatment plans, while educating them about available support networks.
  • Monitor and document participant progress, noting any significant changes in behavior or demeanor.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant interactions and treatment outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed reports that align with organizational standards and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Work in partnership with transition staff to ensure smooth reintegration into community programs.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including institutional staff and fellow counselors, to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in a relevant social service field, with appropriate licensure or registration.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field with AOD certification.
  • Or an Associate's Degree in a related field, AOD certified, with relevant experience in substance use disorder treatment.
  • In-depth understanding of substance abuse issues and their impact on individuals and communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with ARMS is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy in challenging situations.
