About the Role

Amity Foundation is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Substance Abuse Counselor - Supervising to join our team at our in-prison facilities. This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic community, providing face-to-face rehabilitative programming services to participants in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP).

About the Position

As a Supervising Counselor, you will be responsible for delivering treatment programming services, supervising AOD Counseling staff, and evaluating staff performance. You will also maintain knowledge of the AOD certification process and monitor counseling staff progress towards achieving and maintaining valid AOD certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
  • Supervise AOD Counseling staff and evaluate staff performance.
  • Maintain knowledge of the AOD certification process and monitor counseling staff progress.
  • Supervise the orientation and intake processes of all participants newly assigned to programming.
  • Track all participants and complete delivery documentation requirements.
  • Prepare accurate, concise, informative reports, records, and plans.
  • Provide training, oversight, and monitoring of ARMS documentation.
  • Collaborate with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS, and institution staff.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field and one (1) year of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor.
  • Current AOD Certification with an organization recognized by the DHCS or a Licensed professional.
  • Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
  • Excellent organization, leadership, and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
