Job Summary:

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will assist physicians in procedures within the scope of Interventional Radiology and Vascular/Cardiac surgery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pre and post-procedure patient assessment, patient teaching, and patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Inventory management, including receiving, organizing, and restocking products.
  • Assist physicians in endovascular and Cardiac/Cardiology procedures, including setting up sterile fields, positioning, and prepping patients.
  • Operate fluoroscope equipment, lasers, and other equipment associated with interventional vascular and cardiac procedures.
  • Practice radiation safety in accordance with regulations.
  • Prepare radiopaque materials for administration by physicians and draw up contrast for injections.
  • Complete records accurately, including procedure documentation, billing, supplies, and radiation exposure.
  • Assist in patient positioning and transfers.
  • Assist in checking daily controls for all equipment used in routine patient care and ensure medical equipment is in working order.
  • Assist in training and act as a preceptor for new technologists, physicians, nurses, and students.
  • Serve as a role model and cover off-shift call requirements based on unit needs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of vascular experience preferred.
  • H.S. Diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • Certificate of Completion/Degree from an accredited Radiology Program or Vascular Program.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiology Technologist Program, NJ DEP license required upon hire.
