Veterinary Technician Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician Manager to join our team at VCA Animal Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring our veterinary technicians and technician assistants, overseeing hospital processes and business operations, and ensuring exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess employee engagement and satisfaction, providing regular opportunities for feedback, personal development, and career growth.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Management team on employee satisfaction initiatives and develop written, standardized protocols for departments and patient care.
  • Manage Technician Supervisors, Technicians, and Technician Assistants in Specialty and Emergency Departments, assessing staffing needs and ensuring high-quality medical care.
  • Develop detailed training manuals for new staff and supervise the administration and case review of client service and medical complaints.
  • Represent the hospital and VCA positively in the professional community and to the general public.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current CVT or ability to transfer license to New York.
  • 5 years related work experience in veterinary medicine required, 1-3 years supervisory/management experience required.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire for process improvement and leadership development.
