Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Localization Specialist fluent in both Mandarin and English. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating and adapting various forms of content from Mandarin to English, ensuring that the original meaning, tone, and cultural context are preserved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate and modify Chinese scripts, literature, and other materials into English while retaining the original intent and cultural nuances.
- Work in collaboration with the Content Operations team to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in localized content.
- Research cultural references, idioms, and linguistic subtleties to ensure authenticity in the localization process.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to enhance the localization workflow.
- Engage with writers, editors, and other stakeholders to ensure narrative consistency across various platforms.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in localization and storytelling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Film Studies, Screenwriting, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in localization, translation, or adaptation within the film, television, or screenwriting sectors.
- Native or near-native proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Strong awareness of cultural differences and nuances, especially between Chinese and English-speaking audiences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work onsite as required.
