Community Outreach Coordinator for Neighborhood Development

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at the Ibero-American Action League, Inc. in NE Rochester.

Job Summary:

The Community Outreach Coordinator will oversee community engagement efforts, maintain strong relationships with residents, and develop outreach strategies to improve quality of life in the El Camino neighborhood.

About the Position:

This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) that requires occasional standing, squatting, lifting up to 20 lbs, and a mix of office work and community outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong presence in the El Camino neighborhood by consistently engaging residents and leveraging opportunities to improve neighborhood-level planning and outcomes.
  • Oversee community engagement efforts to update the El Camino Vision Plan.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident contact information and participation.
  • Organize and assist in facilitation of Neighborhood Association, Block Clubs, and other committee meetings as specified by leadership.
  • Develop materials for the neighborhood, including community calendars, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Implement effective door-to-door outreach in the community, required on a weekly basis, completing flyer distribution, surveys, recruitment, and other forms of resident feedback and engagement.
  • Devise community engagement strategies utilizing assets such as the International Plaza and Ibero Community Resource Center.
  • Assist leadership in the management of IADC-funded resident projects.
  • Create reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, not required.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Some Saturdays and evenings required.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of residents in the neighborhood.
  • Ability to track and evaluate progress.

Estimated Salary:$45,000 - $60,000 per year
