Assistant Plant Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Plant Operations Manager to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in a key leadership role.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Plan and direct the daily operations of our Penns Park facility, ensuring efficient and safe production of crushed stone and hot mix asphalt.
- Safety Management: Effectively administer our safety program, ensuring compliance with MSHA rules and regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.
- Team Management: Manage direct reports under the guidelines of our HR policies and procedures, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of our team.
- Production Planning: Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner, ensuring production and quality of products meet specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inventory Management: Establish key inventoried items needed for all MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) items for the plant, and effectively interact with governmental and regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, and management as required.
- Quarry Development: Ensure quarry development and mine planning, and manage product inventory to meet customer demands.
- Reporting: Ensure the accuracy of all mine production reporting, and conduct regular safety and department meetings to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure plant and mobile equipment is kept in good and safe working condition to maximize asset throughput, and work closely with the Reliability Plant Maintenance Manager to determine optimal times for production equipment repairs.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with company compliance policies, including the Code of Business Conduct, anti-corruption policy, and Antitrust Compliance Policy, and participate in compliance training as required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree with a mining-related discipline or the equivalent in relevant work experience.
- Experience: At least 4 years of quarry experience and understanding of crushing and process equipment, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organization and time management skills, proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and a solid understanding of government regulations and demonstrated ability to impact safe working practices.
The Assistant Plant Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced production environment, with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions and physical demands of the job. The successful candidate will be required to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, twist, climb, balance, bend, kneel, reach, grasp, squat, and perform repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements, and use of wrists and feet. The ability to lift and carry up to 50-75 lbs. and wear personal protective equipment is also required.
