Job Overview

Position: Lab Technician

Location: Richardson, TX

Travel Requirements: None

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and connect coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
  • Conduct cable verification and mining operations during removal.
  • Set up cabling for termination to various telecommunication hardware.
  • Execute basic wiring tasks by running and securing copper, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.
  • Assemble, erect, mount, and align standard Central Office and Datacenter equipment.
  • Mount and label a diverse range of telecommunication units, terminal blocks, and interconnect panels.
  • Perform intricate wiring tasks.
  • Prepare, connect, and test coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
  • Interpret job specifications, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
  • Adhere to Network Equipment Installation and Quality Standards as defined by Ericsson and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Project Managers, and Engineering teams to address any order discrepancies and rectify on-site specifications and documentation.
Testing and Operations:

Conduct basic installation testing, including:

  • Power verification
  • Hardware provisioning
  • System testing
  • Continuity checks
  • Cat5/6 testing
  • Fiber optic loss testing

Perform essential power operations, such as:

  • Mounting relay racks or cabinet fuse panels
  • Terminating power feeders
  • Running and terminating local power leads from fuse panels to various units within a relay rack or cabinet

This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and performance of telecommunication systems.
