Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor - Residential

Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Counselor - Residential is responsible for providing clinical services to residents in a residential treatment setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents and/or in a therapeutic community setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly caseload group sessions to assist residents in developing and obtaining goals.
  • Provide bi-weekly individual counseling sessions to assist residents in developing and obtaining goals.
  • Initial and ongoing screening of residents and resident property.
  • Document and chart all aspects of resident progress.
  • Supervise daily group formats and facilitate self-medication under supervision.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.
  • Communicate all pertinent information, incidents, and emergencies using the SAC communication log and incident reports.
  • Provide crisis interventions and follow-up documentation.
  • Supervise the overall management of the client population in the facilitation of the daily house schedule.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with adolescents and/or in a therapeutic community setting.
  • CASAC or CASAC-T certification.

Collaboration:

The Substance Abuse Counselor - Residential will collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Coordinator, House Manager, and Assistant House Manager.

Supervision:

The Substance Abuse Counselor - Residential will be supervised by the House Manager or Assistant House Manager.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is $21-$32.
