Job Title: Watercraft Inspector

Waterfront Restoration is seeking a Watercraft Inspector to join our team in the Prior Lake Spring Lake Watershed District. As a Watercraft Inspector, you will play a critical role in protecting Minnesota's waters from ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species.

Job Summary:

The Watercraft Inspector position involves inspecting watercraft for invasive species, educating the public on AIS threats and proper cleaning techniques, and enforcing MN State Aquatic Invasive Species laws. You will work at public water access sites, conducting thorough inspections and providing information to boaters. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in conservation and protecting our environmental resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect watercraft for invasive species and educate the public on AIS threats and proper cleaning techniques
  • Enforce MN State Aquatic Invasive Species laws
  • Conduct verbal surveys and document inspection activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices while inspecting watercraft
Requirements:
  • Verbal communication and customer relations experience
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a professional manner
  • Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Requires occasionally lifting and walking or standing to a significant degree depending on traffic patterns
