Medical Care Specialist

The Medical Care Specialist at Iredell Memorial Hospital Incorporated provides high-quality and cost-effective medical management of patients under the care of the physician and within the State scope of practice. This role collaborates with the physician to coordinate and manage the process of patient care, providing expanded primary health care services for a case load of patients in the areas of clinical specialization.
Responsibilities- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with MSN or DNP is required.
- Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in North Carolina is mandatory.
- Certification in Acute Care or as Adult NP; consideration of Family Practice and Geriatric certification with recent acute care experience is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fundamental knowledge of PC-based applications is necessary.
- Good physical and mental fitness to meet the demands made by patients, families, and physicians is required.
- The selected candidate must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position, including walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Intact sight and hearing with or without assistive devices is required.
