Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Specialist to join our team in Port Lavaca, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and completing assigned projects to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution: Plan, design, budget controls and complete the assigned project to meet the schedule.
- Instrument Engineering Documentation: Prepare instrument engineering documents, such as instrument index, instrument specification and detail engineering design documentation etc.
- Review and Comment: Review / comment P&ID, scope of work with operation and related parties.
- Piping and Instrumentation Design: Review / comment piping ISO, specification, and layout drawings.
- Instrument Specification and Estimation: Prepare instrument specification for bidding as well as B2 estimation.
- Instrument Calculation and Design: Familiar with instrument calculation method for flow elements, control valves and RV.
- Instrument Engineering Detail Design: Familiar concept of instrument engineering detail design includes such as DCS SIS system design.
- Code and Standard Compliance: Able to read NEC code, specifications, and standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Able to use Auto-Cad, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point for documentation and report.
- Vendor Proposal Review and COQ Preparation: Capable of reviewing vendor proposals, prepare COQ to meet specification.
- Instrument Engineering Design and Documentation: Capable of working together with DDE complete all the instrument engineering design documents.
- Construction Package Preparation: Prepare construction package for bidding.
- Field Construction Support: Capable of supporting field construction job, solve engineering errors or technical issues.
- Project Meeting and Reporting: Attend project meeting, report project status to manager.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Apply good communication skills in verbal and writing.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Interact with vendors, contractors, and customers.
- Cost Saving and Value Added Tasks: Capable of creating cost saving / value added tasks.
- Goal Setting and Achievement: Capable of setting individual goal and achieve the expectations.
- Special Projects and Duties: Perform special project or other duties as assigned.
- Education: BS Electrical Control Systems Engineering.
- Experience: 3 years instrument engineering experience in petro-chemical industry, plan, design, budget controls and complete the assigned project to meet the schedule.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Team player able to work effectively with other disciplines.
- Project Quality, Safety, Schedule, and Budget: Adherence to project quality, safety, schedule, and budget.
- Work Environment: Comfortable with fast-paced work environment. Quick learner.

- Industry Experience: Experience in the petroleum and/or chemical processing industry in a plant environment.

- DCS/PLC I/O Wiring Knowledge: Knowledge of DCS/PLC I/O wiring.
- Instrument Power Systems Design Knowledge: Knowledge of Instrument Power Systems Design.
- Time/Project Management Skills: Strong time/project management skills.
- Business Acumen and Collaboration: Strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
