Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role involves engaging with industrial manufacturing clients, suppliers, account representatives, and colleagues across various departments including VSTL, account management, and production. Key responsibilities encompass both workshop and field maintenance of valves and actuators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of valves, cylinders, actuators, pumps, and other machinery either in the workshop or at client locations.
  • Execute service requests as directed under the guidance of the Shop Manager and Lead Technicians.
  • Support the loading and unloading of tools and equipment for field service.
  • Prepare and dismantle necessary repair equipment both on-site and in the workshop.
  • Conduct testing of high-pressure safety relief valves, requiring precision and a thorough understanding of processes and protocols.
  • Operate machinery, such as Fork-Lift Trucks, for the loading/unloading of equipment at the workshop and for moving parts/valves as required.
  • Communicate effectively and provide updates to the lead valve technician, adhering to instructions and guidelines.
  • Drive to and from job sites as necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 44lbs.
  • Capability to navigate and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding at client sites, often at significant heights.

Travel Requirements:

  • Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Willingness to work on-site at client facilities is essential.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience of 3 years in a related field (e.g., valve, pump, or actuator) and/or relevant training; or a comparable combination of education and experience. Skills in welding and machining are advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to be covered under company insurance.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
