Job Summary

Florida Association of Court Clerks and Comptrollers/Civitek is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, with expertise in Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems and virtualization concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our host computer systems, ensuring high availability and acceptable levels of performance.
  • Develop and implement new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Apply system level firmware upgrades, perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Manage installation and/or upgrades of systems management/monitoring/administrative tools and utilities, configure/add new services as necessary.
  • Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions, address security concerns according to our security policy guidelines.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to all internal and external customers, conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related field.
  • Microsoft/Linux/Unix Certifications Required.
  • 3 years of related experience or 5 years of previous related experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems, UNIX/Linux, and Microsoft System Administration.
  • Understanding of virtualization concepts, tools, configuration, and clustering.
  • Knowledge of Zimbra or Microsoft Exchange preferred.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as Azure and Office 365.
  • Understanding of Computer Security.
  • Understanding networking concepts.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, research ideas, develop a plan, and see it through to completion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot various aspects of computer hardware, software, networking/connectivity, etc.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate issues in both written and verbal format to peers and escalation points.
