Job Summary:

The Construction Manager/Engineer will provide oversight of construction projects, including planning, designing, constructing, and renovating Indian Affairs facilities, while maintaining quality of services and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support services to the Project Manager
  • Generate Indian Government Estimating budget analysis
  • Prepare complete solicitation packages, including statements of work, objectives, requirements, and conceptual drawings, with design guidelines for projects to be designed by design-build contractors
  • Conduct project management responsibilities, such as developing architectural and engineering statements of work, project schedules, cost estimates, and budgets, technical design reviews, and analysis of drawings and specifications
  • Ensure project compliance with contract provisions and standards, propose contract changes and modifications, recommend final acceptance of work, and prepare closeout documents
  • Assist in ongoing development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Coordinate for and secure archaeological, historical preservation, environmental, and other clearances prior to construction, and monitor project compliance with building and safety codes and standards through document reviews and site visits
  • Attend meetings with tribes/tribal representatives, school boards, sister agencies, law enforcement officials, private interests, state officials, and other federal officials to present projects, describe impact, and ensure adherence to schedule and designs
  • Responsible for design and construction services for new facilities and the major alternation, improvement, and repair of existing facilities, from inception through the warranty period and final asset capitalization

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field required or a combination of education and experience that would include experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of applicable study for a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Project, and knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed deadline expectations
  • Team player who thrives on collaborating with others to produce proposals
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
  • Excellent technical aptitude, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Adherence to Contract management protocols
  • OSHA 30 preferred
