College Success Coach

BronxWorks is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Peer Mentor in our Children and Youth Department. As a Peer Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success and personal growth of first-year college students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to up to 3 first-year college students, helping them navigate the college experience and achieve their academic goals.
- Refer students to the College Success Advisor for assistance with the college and financial aid process, as well as scholarship essays and applications.
- Monitor and document student progress towards college success and graduation using a Google spreadsheet.
- Facilitate college success workshops for students during the semester, promoting positive peer bonding and relevant topical information.
- Engage and monitor follow-up with students to ensure their success, providing support for program trips and CAFE Program events.
- Report to and meet with the College Success Advisor monthly or as required, completing student reports via Google spreadsheet.
- Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in college success and youth development.
Requirements:
- College Sophomore or Junior in good standing.
- Experience interacting with student services offices in a college campus.
