Compensation: $21.25 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW

Pritchard Industries is seeking dedicated Waste Management Specialists. In this role, you will be tasked with the collection, categorization, and proper disposal of waste produced within our facilities. As a key player in our sustainability efforts, you will help uphold our commitment to a zero-waste environment.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Waste Management Specialist will report directly to the Waste Management Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collect and separate waste materials, including recyclables and compostables, from all designated areas.
  • Follow established sustainability and recycling protocols.
  • Transport waste to sorting stations as part of a coordinated collection effort.
  • Sort waste into designated categories: landfill, compostables, recyclables, cardboard, mixed paper, and glass.
  • Participate in training to understand sorting processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all waste items are inspected and sorted accurately.
  • Complete a mandatory checklist at the end of each shift.
  • After events, manage the disposal of waste according to its category, ensuring minimal contamination.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in recycling and waste management.
  • Completion of zero-waste training and certification.
  • Ability to maintain low contamination rates.
  • Capability to follow supervisor instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in janitorial or cleaning services.
  • Background in waste sorting is advantageous.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
