Job Description:

This is a professional public health program position that oversees the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and operational phases of a specific component within a large health program.

Employees have supervisory responsibility over professional staff and have input into budgeting for specific programs (e.g., HIV prevention training as a component of the state HIV program).

Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning, and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement assigned programs and/or services to achieve positive program outcomes.
  • Manage and train a team of contracted training staff consisting of 3 Public Health Program Supervisors who each lead a team of 3 Public Health Program Specialists.
  • Schedule and coordinate onsite trainings throughout to educate state and local public health agency staff as well as data submitters on the use of SMWC and other electronic information systems.
  • Develop a variety of training materials for live trainings, virtual trainings, posting on the DHSS website, and other situations as needed, in collaboration with the BDMI Interoperability Manager and other DHSS subject matter experts.
  • Establish processes and manage staffing for a help desk to support SMWC and other system end users and portal data submitters.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree, 4 or more years of relevant experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing to diverse individuals with widely varying levels of technical skills.
  • Ability to represent key stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
