About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Clinical Director to join our team at Heartland Hospice. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hospice sites, ensuring the provision of high-quality care to our patients, and managing the clinical and administrative aspects of our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Manage the site in the absence of the Executive Director or Administrator, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Clinical Oversight: Oversee the clinical aspects of the hospice program, including patient assessments, care planning, and coordination of services.
  • Administrative Functions: Manage and oversee administrative and recordkeeping functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
  • Communication: Respond to phone referrals and inquiries in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • On-Call Nursing: Participate in on-call nursing schedules and provide direct skilled bedside nursing care in patients' homes.
Requirements
  • Education: Registered Nurse with a minimum of Associate's Degree in Nursing required from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: Three years' experience in direct patient care in a clinical setting required, with a minimum of one year of management/supervisory experience.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Current license to practice nursing in the state of employment, CPR certification, and valid driver's license.

  • Sensitivity and Compassion: Demonstrate sensitivity to the feelings of the terminally ill and their families, and be able to communicate effectively with people of all socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Display flexibility and adaptability in performing a variety of tasks, often changing from one to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Hospice Concept: Have a thorough understanding of the hospice concept, including the roles of all disciplines providing hospice services.
  • Patient Assessment: Possess excellent patient assessment skills, with good oral and written communication skills.
