Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant or Acute Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the ICU department at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY. This is a full-time position that involves working overnight shifts, providing exceptional care to our patients, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recognize abnormalities in test results and take appropriate treatment actions, consulting with physicians as needed.
  • Initiate and facilitate referrals or transfers of patients to other medical facilities for further care, under the consultation of physicians.
  • Ensure proper documentation in the medical record, including history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment records, condition on discharge, patient instructions, and follow-up.
  • Manage medical, surgical, and trauma issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Perform phlebotomies and IV access as needed.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement program as requested by the Medical Director.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in the State of New York.
  • Two (2) years minimum in Critical Care.
