Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - ICU
Job Summary:Health Alliance Hudson Valley, part of the WMCHealth Network, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Physician Assistant or Acute Nurse Practitioner to work overnight in the ICU department in Kingston, NY.
Responsibilities:- Recognize abnormalities in test results and take appropriate treatment actions, consulting with physicians when necessary.
- Initiate and facilitate referral or transfer of patients to other medical facilities for further medical care, under the consultation of physicians.
- Ensure proper documentation in the medical record, including history, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment records, condition on discharge, patient instructions, and follow-up.
- Manage medical, surgical, and trauma issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Perform phlebotomies and IV access as needed.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement program as requested by the Medical Director.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current licensure in the State of New York.
- Two (2) years minimum in Critical Care.
