Job Summary

The Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a highly qualified Literacy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our instructional leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching and support to teachers to improve student literacy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based literacy programs to support student achievement
  • Provide coaching and professional development to teachers on literacy instruction and assessment
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to design and implement literacy-rich instructional strategies
  • Analyze data to inform literacy instruction and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with teachers and administrators to build trust and credibility
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in literacy instruction and assessment
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, or related field
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Reading Specialist endorsement and Bilingual Spanish endorsement
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
  • Leadership experience preferred
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to support student literacy outcomes. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
