Your Role
***We are looking for Licensed Residential Property Appraisers in the Chicago, Illinois area***

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform unbiased and impartial valuations of residential properties by analyzing market and property-specific data, completing appraisal reports in compliance with USPAP, government, company, regulatory board, and client-specific standards.
  • Conduct inspections of various types of residential properties, documenting on-site data collection and inspections with photographs, measurements, sketches, diagrams, and field notes.
  • Evaluate all factors that may impact property value, including legal characteristics, highest and best use, market conditions, locational factors, site, view, design, quality, age, condition, size, and physical attributes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in sales comparison, cost, and income approaches to valuation.
  • Utilize local MLS and regional real estate data sources effectively.
  • Be adept with major form types (1004, 2055, 1073, 1075, 1025, Review Forms, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Senior Appraisers/Appraisal Helpdesk to ensure quality at the assignment level and implement individual process improvements to minimize addendums and quality control rejections.
  • Engage in monthly Appraiser meetings.
  • Meet departmental turnaround time expectations and proactively escalate issues if deadlines cannot be met.
Qualifications
  • Ability to adapt to varying client-driven requirements and deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and narrative writing capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw sound conclusions, and summarize results for diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, accurate environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of delivering clear messages to appraisers, vendors, and operational staff.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow up.
  • Preferred experience in REO appraisals.
  • HUD/FHA experience is advantageous.
  • Active Appraiser Certification as mandated by the state's regulatory agency.
  • Appraisers should have no disciplinary actions within the past +/-10 years.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
This position offers a state minimum wage draw against a percentage fee split.
