Role Summary: The Test Engineering division is responsible for the design and creation of equipment utilized in the development and production of tactical hardware. We are in search of early-career professionals who will be engaged in the fabrication of electronic and electromechanical assemblies (and sub-assemblies) according to engineering specifications. The role involves the capability to place and solder components onto circuit boards and sub-assemblies. Fabrication tasks will also include the assembly of wiring harnesses, which necessitates connector pinning and de-pinning, along with the application of mounting hardware. Additionally, the role requires the fabrication of metal enclosures and other sheet metal components. These lower-level assemblies will be integrated into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production sectors.

Collaboration: This position offers the opportunity to work as an individual contributor within a collaborative team environment. You will work closely with Engineers and other members of the Fabrication team, including fellow Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors. Daily responsibilities will encompass a dynamic fabrication setting, along with the use of various computer-based applications to update job statuses, conduct Quality Inspections, and implement Engineering modifications.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabrication environments, which may include cable and harness, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design products.
  • Prior certification in soldering and harnessing capabilities to MIL STD standards.
  • Ability to fabricate electrical and mechanical test equipment designs from blueprints, schematics, bills of materials, and engineering practices manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to relay design and process issues to management and design engineers.

Work Environment: This position requires onsite full-time work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Flexible Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility for employees. Options range from standard 40-hour work weeks to condensed schedules, allowing for extra time away from the office in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Work Schedule: 4x10 hour days with 3 days off per week.
