POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in the innovation and optimization of manufacturing machinery and processes for both new and established heat transfer products. This position encompasses a diverse range of process enhancement initiatives, focusing on production efficiency, aluminum welding techniques, and quality improvement strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and specify mechanical requirements for both new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes related to heat transfer products.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers to align with project and equipment standards.
  • Engage with Management, Design Engineering, and Production teams to establish project requirements and methodologies, particularly in welding operations.
  • Draft cost projections and project timelines for new machinery and processes.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to create routing processes for heat exchanger components and assemblies.
  • Conduct calculations to validate equipment and process capabilities to support production demands.
  • Oversee manufacturing projects from initial design through to final production validation.
  • Supervise internal and supplier equipment qualification plans and manage the testing and validation of new machinery.
  • Generate manufacturing guidelines for new product lines.
  • Investigate and address challenges encountered during the production of new and existing products using methodologies such as RCCA, Fishbone Diagrams, and 5-Why's, implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations pertaining to job responsibilities.
  • Uphold and enforce standards, policies, and procedures set by both Customers and the Company.
  • Propose and implement process enhancements.
  • Provide insights to management regarding potential challenges or areas for advancement.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies.
  • Experience with vacuum brazing, CNC operations, and/or welding is advantageous.
