Job Description

The Municipal Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in Brilar LLC's growth and success. Our mission is to provide high-quality service, be profitable in all endeavors, and foster a healthy culture rich in safety, mutually beneficial relationships, and continuous improvement. As Municipal Operations Manager, you will oversee the overall production planning, efficiency, and quality of field operations. Additionally, you will have a significant role in ensuring the readiness, care, appearance, and safe operation of all assets within the Municipal division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and promote Brilar's Vision, Mission, and Core Values
  • Develop, instruct, and follow through on efficient production plans for field operations teams in the Municipal division
  • Lead effective snow operation plans that maximize staffing and assets while minimizing unnecessary expenses
  • Review assigned crews' work quality in the field and correct as necessary to ensure client satisfaction
  • Assist with setting short- and long-range strategic plans in conjunction with the Branch Manager
  • Daily review and approve branch personnel timesheets
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees with assistance from the HR team
  • Develop and conduct training programs for field staff to improve operational efficiency, compliance, and safety
  • Ensure work is conducted in a safe manner, maintaining safe working conditions for employees, customers, the general public, and the environment
  • Establish and promote positive relationships with local vendors, service partners, local and state agencies, and the general public
  • Accurately submit all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Manage all incidents and injuries within the Municipal division
  • Participate in branch and corporate-level meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Align with Brilar's core values, vision, and mission
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Consent to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-incident drug testing
  • Have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Have or be willing to obtain a DOT Physical Card
  • Be insurable by Brilar's insurance carrier
  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of management-level knowledge and experience within the commercial lawn maintenance and snow removal industry
  • Proven extensive knowledge of operations, production management, and fleet management
  • Must be able to lead and motivate a team
  • Must have excellent knowledge of business and financial principles
  • Must have 'big picture' thinking
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be self-motivated, well-organized, and possess strong time management skills
  • Have a positive and friendly attitude
  • Must have professional phone, meeting, and event etiquette
  • Must be able to work as a team and take direction from multiple sources
  • Must be a self-starter, able to productively work for extended periods with minimal direct supervision
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be time flexible, without schedule restrictions
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, and walk repeatedly for a continuous period
  • Must have proficient knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Aspire, Vehicle GPS tracking
  • Must sign a confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-solicit agreement
