Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional will provide support and assistance to individuals with IDD and/or Autism in their daily lives, helping them to develop independent skills and achieve greater independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, professional technology skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and teams.
Responsibilities:- Provide support and assistance to individuals with IDD and/or Autism in their daily lives, including assistance with socialization, finances, life skills, and more.
- Teach independent skills and provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist individuals with IDD and/or Autism in achieving their goals and objectives, including completing tasks and activities.
- Document progress and provide regular updates to the support team and Employment Specialist.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other support staff to ensure seamless support and care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and upholding the company's core values.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license, registration, insurance, and inspection required.
- Professional technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and teams.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications, including Microsoft Office and other relevant tools.
