Infection Prevention Specialist

Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist to join our team. As a key member of our infection control program, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective infection prevention strategies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Conduct surveillance and monitoring of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and environmental events to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to investigate and resolve infection control issues, and provide education and training on infection prevention best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and national healthcare organizations to stay up-to-date on the latest infection prevention guidelines and best practices.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives to improve patient safety and quality of care.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Public Health, or related field.
- Two years of experience in an acute care or public health setting, with previous experience in infection control or public health preferred.
- Certified in Infection Control (CBIC) within 3 years.
