About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Enterprise Accounts commercial team in Santa Clara, CA. As a key member of our Medical Device Division's FP&A team, you will partner with various levels of leadership to drive financial ownership, financial discipline, and business excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports to support the Annual Plan and Latest Best Estimate (LBE) quarterly forecast process for the Enterprise Accounts team.
  • Partner with Commercial and Functional teams to analyze sales and P&L performance versus various financial benchmarks.
  • Support the month-end close process and reporting of monthly financial performance metrics.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and variance analysis to support financial decision making.
  • Execute compensation planning and performance measurement.
  • Support Cross-business unit deal planning and financial modeling.
  • Develop flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules as well as develop system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.
  • Maintain effective and efficient planning process for the departments supported, including the coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
  • Perform ad hoc requests and drive cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support.
Requirements
  • BA / BS Accounting or Finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or advanced education degree is preferred.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate financial results based on audience.
  • Self-starter and can work independently.
  • Highly structured and organized with strict adherence to deadlines.
