We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role will provide holistic care to patients across all age populations, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on scientific evidence.

This position requires a registered nurse who is knowledgeable about the professional scope of practice and the American Nurses Association (ANA) nurse practice standards. The successful candidate will be flexible and able to make care decisions based on individual patient needs, prioritizing care according to each patient's condition.

Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred, but not required. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is mandatory.

Work Experience

  • Prior related nursing experience is beneficial, but not essential for this role. We welcome applicants with varying levels of experience.

Licenses/Certifications Required

  • A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont is necessary. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Unit-specific certifications such as ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC may be necessary, depending on the department's operational framework.
  • Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification is also required, as per unit guidelines.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated proficiency in acute-care nursing, including knowledge and skills in critical care.
  • A moderate level of computer literacy is expected.
