IT Infrastructure Engineer

Encore Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the IT group in our offices in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Indianapolis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the firm's Windows and Azure environments, ensuring consistent design, deployment, and lifecycle maintenance services for Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other critical services.
- Administer, configure, and maintain the firm's IT infrastructure, adhering to security and best practice requirements for all systems, including servers, storage systems, data protection, private/public cloud, networking equipment, access and environmental control systems, peripheral technology, monitoring systems, and communication systems.
- Assist with the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of datacenter networking and equipment necessary to operate servers and storage.
- Implement and maintain the firm's data protection policies, adhering to defined data retention and recovery requirements via the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of platforms such as Cohesity and Veeam's backup technologies and underlying storage replication technologies.
- Monitor all IT equipment, quickly responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents as they occur to prevent outages or data loss.
- Apply patches, firmware updates, and OS upgrades, following security best practices, to physical and virtual servers, storage resources, and other physical IT-related assets.
- Assist in the administration of remote access technologies and outside connections to firm resources, including design, deployment, securing, and lifecycle maintenance for Remote Desktop Services (RDS), ensuring authentication controls and security hardening are maintained.
- Support and install the firm's physical networking environment, including switches, routers, and firewalls as required.
- Assist the Applications team and vendors as necessary with application installation and updates, ensuring security and best practice requirements are met.
- Provide proactive identification of system resource issues and planning for growth.
- Participate in the design, deployment, and maintenance services for IT Infrastructure projects, including storage, servers, virtualization, disaster recovery, email management, VOIP (Zoom), encryption, vulnerability management, and patch management.
- Ensure all design, deployment, configuration, and upgrades are completed with adequate testing, preparation, and support, creating and maintaining documentation throughout the process.
- Ensure all scheduled operational and maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on time and documented properly.
- Adhere to all IT Department standards and Firm Information Security Policies, including change control and maintenance windows.
- Assist with the decommissioning of firm hardware, ensuring data has been wiped from all resources in preparation for proper recycling of e-waste.
- Provide timely and relevant in-house escalation support, adhering to ticketing procedures and SLA requirements, applying troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a timely and effective manner.
- Adhere to IT ITIL disciplines and processes, including ITSM, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
- Obtain, maintain, and apply knowledge of relevant areas, attending seminars, reading periodicals, and participating in outside organizations.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate teamwork, initiative, organizational skills, flexibility, dependability, and adherence to strict confidentiality standards.
- Ability to physically lift 75 lbs to install hardware as needed.
- Willingness to learn new and evolving technologies both on the job and in formal education settings.
- Ability and flexibility to travel to perform work in other offices and datacenter locations.
- Ability to write reports, knowledge base articles, and short procedures.
- Ability to work after hours when needed or an incident requires.
- Ability to partake in an after-hours on-call rotation shared between other members of the infrastructure team as required.
- Ability to travel to and occasionally work on-site in the client's current and future data center locations, primarily South Central Ohio and on a more limited basis, Arizona.
Education and Experience:
- Education, related training, experience, or IT certifications demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience with Microsoft Server, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS.
- Experience with physical maintenance of hardware, throughout a typical hardware lifecycle, from implementation to destruction, with hardware from vendors such as Dell, Cisco, and HP.
- Experience working with various storage technologies, such as Pure and Dell/EMC (Isilon) and IBM, as well as cloud storage such as Wasabi and Azure.
- 5+ years of work experience in supporting IT infrastructure services.
- Experience working with Exchange, Isilon, and VMware administration desired.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies, including IP addressing, switches, FC Zoning, and wireless management (preferably Cisco).
- Familiarity with data protection platforms, such as Cohesity and Veeam desired.
- Familiarity with Solar Winds desired.
- Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco certifications desired.
- Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Service Desk Plus.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Law Firm experience preferred.
