Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Encore Talent Solutions is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support our IT group in either the Cincinnati, Columbus, or Indianapolis office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Azure environments, including Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other critical services.
  • Ensuring best practices, security, and maintenance for all functions of Active Directory and Azure AD, including lifecycle management of user objects, groups, permissions, external federation, and data synchronization.
  • Administration, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of the firm's information technology infrastructure, adhering to security and best practice requirements for all systems, including servers, storage systems, data protection, private/public cloud, networking equipment, access and environmental control systems, peripheral technology, monitoring systems, and communication systems.
  • Assisting with configuration, implementation, and maintenance of datacenter networking and equipment necessary to operate servers and storage when required.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the firm's various data protection policies, adhering to defined data retention and recovery requirements via the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of platforms such as Cohesity and Veeam's backup technologies, as well as underlying storage replication technologies like Pure, Isilon, and VMware.
  • Monitoring all IT equipment, quickly responding, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents as they occur to prevent outages or data loss across incidents, including hardware failure, configuration issues, firmware update issues, security issues, performance problems, and user-reported issues or escalations from internal teams.
  • Applying patches, firmware updates, and OS upgrades, following all security best practices, to any and all physical and virtual servers, storage resources, and other physical IT-related assets across the firm, including UPS, printing, communication, and security systems as required.
  • Assisting in the administration of remote access technologies and outside connections to firm resources, including design, deployment, securing, and lifecycle maintenance for Remote Desktop Services (RDS), ensuring authentication controls and security hardening are maintained for all systems. Participating in the integration and administration of multifactor authentication.
  • Assisting in support and/or physical installation of the firm's physical networking environment, such as switches, routers, and firewalls as required.
  • Assisting the Applications team and vendors as necessary with application installation and updates, ensuring both security and best practice requirements are met.
  • Providing proactive identification of system resource issues and planning for growth.
  • Providing assistance with the design, deployment, and maintenance services for IT Infrastructure projects at large, including but not limited to storage, servers, virtualization, disaster recovery, email management, VOIP (Zoom), encryption, vulnerability management, and patch management as assigned.
  • Ensuring all design, deployment, configuration, and upgrades are completed with adequate testing, preparation, and support, creating and maintaining documentation throughout the process.
  • Ensuring all scheduled operational and maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on time and documented properly.
  • Adhering to all IT Department standards and Firm Information Security Policies, including but not limited to change control and maintenance windows.
  • Assisting with decommissioning of firm hardware, ensuring data has been wiped from all resources in preparation for proper recycling of e-waste.
  • Providing timely and relevant in-house escalation support, adhering to ticketing procedures and SLA requirements, applying troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhering to all IT Department standards and Firm Information Security Policies, including but not limited to change control and maintenance windows.
  • Adhering to IT ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) disciplines and processes, including but not limited to ITSM (IT Service Management); Incident Management; Change Management, and Problem Management.
  • Obtaining, maintaining, and applying knowledge of relevant areas (attending seminars; reading periodicals; participating in outside organizations).
