About the Program

The Program on Forced Migration and Health is one of the world's leading programs for training the next generation of refugee health and humanitarian response workers. Established in 1998, the program has produced over 400 graduates who are currently working in humanitarian settings globally. Our research has contributed significantly to the knowledge base on humanitarian action and health during global disasters and conflict.

Job Summary

We are seeking a faculty member to serve as the Program Director for the Program on Forced Migration and Health. The successful candidate will provide guidance and vision to the ongoing development and expansion of the program. The incumbent will be expected to perform as a scholar and teacher in the department, possessing a prominent record of academic research, scholarship, service, and teaching. A demonstrated capacity to secure external research funding and a dedication to the development and training of the next generation of refugee health and humanitarian response workers are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision to the Program on Forced Migration and Health
  • Develop and implement research and training programs in refugee health and humanitarian response
  • Secure external research funding to support program activities
  • Teach and mentor students in the department
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to advance the department's research and service goals

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or professional equivalent
  • Advanced degree in public health, law, social sciences, medicine, or related field
  • Strong background in research and peer-reviewed publications
  • Extensive field experience in forced migration/humanitarian settings
  • Strong language skills in Arabic, Spanish, or French
