ROLE OVERVIEW:

Deliver exceptional service to clients while addressing their financial needs through various retail banking functions. A Retail Banker 3 will have mastered and consistently apply all skills expected of the Retail Banker 1 and 2 roles, while also acquiring and utilizing additional skills defined for this level within the Retail Banker Career Path. This position serves as a trusted resource for clients and regularly uses knowledge and experience to assist and support team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Requests:
  • Process all standard banking transactions presented by clients in person, through drive-up, via night depository, mail, or digitally.
  • Manage cash and maintain an individual cash drawer to fulfill client requests.
  • Assist clients with access to safe deposit boxes, ensuring compliance with all procedures.
  • Address both routine and complex maintenance and service requests, guiding less experienced team members as needed.
  • Identify client banking needs and recommend appropriate solutions for both prospective and existing clients.
New Accounts:
  • Support the bank's overall sales initiatives through direct sales of deposit products, consumer loans, and related services.
  • Efficiently open various types of deposit accounts, including checking, savings, and money market accounts, as well as certificates of deposit and IRAs.
  • Effectively manage credit card, consumer lending, and home equity lending requests.
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new accounts and relationships.
Relationship Management:
  • Develop, manage, and enhance client relationships through ongoing interactions and recognition of key life events.
  • Adhere to defined banking processes to ensure a consistent, positive experience for clients and success for the branch team.
  • Utilize the bank's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to personalize client interactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Proactively engage with clients through various communication channels and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of bank products and services to effectively refer clients to appropriate departments.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Participate in bank events and represent the bank in professional associations and community organizations.
  • Assist bank personnel with inquiries regarding account statuses and other banking matters.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for less experienced team members, providing support and guidance.
  • Maintain professional expertise through ongoing education and training opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma required; an associate's degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Retail Banker experience or equivalent.
  • Completion of all training and evaluation requirements in the Retail Banker Career Path necessary for transition from Retail Banker 2 to Retail Banker 3.
  • Must meet the requirements of the SAFE Act, including registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry.
  • Availability to work additional hours as required.
  • Participation in community events annually.
