About the Job

Sandy Spring Bank is seeking a highly experienced Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our banking operations and lending activities are in compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive compliance program to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expert analysis, risk assessment, and evaluation of compliance-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance manual to ensure coverage of existing and new regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and analyze applicable consumer protection and banking laws and regulations.
  • Lead projects to implement changes in laws and regulations and assess risk and impact to business unit processes.
  • Provide compliance guidance and advisory services to business units on regulatory requirements and issues.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of consumer and commercial regulatory compliance training for business units and branch personnel.
  • Review advertising and marketing promotions for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct miscellaneous compliance-related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in banking financial services with a concentration in Retail Banking, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending, deposit, consumer lending, mortgage, risk management, or other banking functions.
  • 5 years of experience in Governance, Risk Management, or Compliance Management (GRC).
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.
  • CRCM, preferred; ACAMs, PMP, or CMB a plus.
  • Experience with Encompass, Action, nCino, CRA Wiz, or Fair Lending Wiz, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of desktop computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Working Conditions

The Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer will work in a normal office environment with minimal discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements. The position requires the ability to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
