Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated R&D Formulation Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of new and existing product formulas, ensuring consistency and reliability in our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of formulas, specifications, and processing procedures to ensure consistent and reliable execution in multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product formulations, testings, and evaluations.
  • Execute sensory evaluations of new products to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Support cross-functional team members to meet deadlines and achieve business objectives.
  • Participate in team activities, including tastings, flavor testing, and sensory evaluations.
  • Maintain proper lab conditions and equipment maintenance.
  • Be capable of working in various work settings, including laboratory, office, and plant areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field of study.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturer setting, including formulation, pilot batching, and scale-up.
  • Good bench skills, including weighing, mixing, and heating.
  • Familiarity with functional ingredients, such as starch, pectin, and gums.
  • Understanding of instrumental measurements, including solids, pH, water activity, viscometry/rheology, density, colorimetry, and temperature.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and individually in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficient computer literacy with basic knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to withstand long periods of time on one's feet.
