Veterinary Service Technician

Patterson Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for providing senior-level onsite repair, installation, and maintenance of dental products. You will also serve as a lead or main technical field contact for other departments needing assistance and provide technical support to other technicians, sales staff, and administrative staff.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Determine parts, supplies, or tools needed to complete service requests, maintain and secure test devices and tools, and manage vehicle inventory and restock as necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure proper vehicle maintenance guidelines and safe driving habits are followed.
- Install and/or Repair Dental Equipment: Repair equipment to meet manufacturers' specifications, perform standard system installations, and test the functionality of all components.
- Customer Relations: Provide technical support after initial installation of equipment, ensure service commitments are met within standard response times, and conduct site surveys at dental practices to determine their needs.
- Supervision: Liaise between the equipment department and service department on installations, assign daily duties to the team, and report any issues back to the inside team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- 9+ years of experience in a dental/medical environment.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification or MCP.
- Experience with peripherals such as printers, backups, scanners, and modems.
- Carpentry/plumbing/heating/electricity/electronics-related experience.
- Computer skills in Windows-based programs.
- Ability to travel in a vehicle for several hours in a day with occasional overnight stays.
- Associate degree in a computer-related field or equivalent.
- Technical training in Bio-Med/electronics or related technical field.
- Experience in computer repair.
- Experience in category five cabling.
- Experience in TCP/IP networking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This position requires traveling to customer locations and providing services and support to customers.
