Job Summary:

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Kansas Medical Center as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The successful candidate will provide clinical services in an ambulatory setting and supervise psychiatry trainees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in General Psychiatry and experience in ambulatory care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the Director of the Division of Ambulatory Services to provide clinical services and supervise trainees.
  • Provide direct services to patients in the ambulatory services areas.
  • Supervise resident physicians in residents' clinics, didactic settings, and individual psychotherapy situations.
  • Teach residents and students in areas of psychiatrists' expertise through didactic lectures and in clinical settings.
  • Establish an area of clinical and/or research expertise and recognition.
  • Participate in clinical and administrative on-call activities, weekend call, continuous performance improvement, and participate in Medical School and Department Committees as needed.

Requirements:
  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent and ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry.
  • Must hold a medical license (or be eligible for licensure) in the State of Kansas.
