Position Overview:

  • Ensure technical integrity of projects from a specialized process engineering perspective to fully meet factory expectations and avoid cost overruns or penalties.
  • Design food processing systems.
  • Conduct detailed design based on project scope requirements.
  • Prepare Request For Quotation (RFQ).
  • Analyze and compare offers.
  • Installation Support: Manage on-site teams to ensure all safety, hygiene, and installation processes adhere to detailed designs.
  • Commissioning Support: Execute plant commissioning to fulfill process design requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams on design specifications and technical direction throughout design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases, including monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Oversee contractor activities relevant to the project within the specialist field.
  • In a project engineering role, review project costs, including monthly reporting to ensure budget compliance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to process automation and electrical systems during project handover and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide a technical report post-project sign-off, summarizing outcomes from both process and technical perspectives, including feedback to project managers.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality and safety in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Central Engineering team for ongoing support.
Requirements:

  • Experience as a process engineer in the dairy, beverage, or medical sectors.
  • Familiarity with food production processes and equipment.
  • Fluent in English; basic conversational skills in Japanese are required.
  • Educational background in mechanical, physics, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of utilities (ice water, steam, etc.).
  • Experience in project implementation related to food processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in CAD (2D and 3D), MS Office, and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) is advantageous.

Benefits:
Employment Type: Full-time (6-month probation period with no changes in conditions during this time). Working Hours: 8:45 AM - 5:30 PM (actual working hours: 7 hours 45 minutes). Expected Annual Salary: 6-9M + performance bonuses (consideration based on current salary, preferences, and experience/skills). Holidays: Complete two-day weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with 120 annual holidays. Annual Paid Leave: 12 days in the first year (plus 5 days for sick leave and 2 days for special leave). Welfare and Benefits: Salary review (annually in January), biannual bonuses (June and December), full transportation expenses covered, complete social insurance (employment, labor accident, health, pension), retirement benefits (after one year of service), etc. We are looking for individuals who possess a strong desire to grow both personally and organizationally, as evidenced by improved retention rates compared to five years ago. Commuting by car, motorcycle, or bicycle is permitted, and support for relocation or company vehicle provision for those living more than 60 km away is available.
