Campus Life Program Overview

The Community Life Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a full range of social and recreational programs for residents at our campus. This includes collaborating with the Resident Services Director to develop and facilitate engaging activities and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Resident Services Director to develop and implement social and recreational programs
  • Plan and coordinate activities and events, including resident-led events
  • Ensure programs meet CL's LifeConnect philosophy guidelines
  • Market programs to the community and staff
  • Plan and escort residents to off-campus events
  • Coordinate the resident and community volunteer program
  • Develop and direct the volunteer program
  • Coordinate with other departments to plan and implement events
  • Update on-campus TV channel and provide newsletter editing as needed
  • Stay current with trends in recreational programming for older adults
  • Provide welcome and orientation to new residents

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Training or experience in activities, crafts, recreation, or a related field
  • Experience working with senior adults and in retirement community operations
  • Current Illinois driver's license and good driving record for transporting residents
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and contribute to LifeConnect Profile software and campus TV software
  • Excellent communication skills, including English, oral, and written
  • Highly motivated individual with organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand the needs of aging adults and demonstrate customer service
