Overview:


The QA Software Engineer in Test Automation is a role that merges the skills of manual and automated testing, development, quality assurance, and testing.


The QA Engineer collaborates with Product Development and Product Management to analyze requirements and system documentation to create efficient and cohesive tests; leads peer reviews of tests; develops automation scripts; mentors and cross-trains colleagues on testing and automation script writing; executes both manual and automated tests; evaluates testing outcomes, identifies and reports root causes for test failures; and provides recommendations to enhance product reliability, customer experience, performance, and quality assurance best practices & processes.


Responsibilities:
Establish, monitor, and uphold Automated Tests

Ensure adherence to all coding standards and best practices

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with the Automated Tests

Enhance existing testing automation or devise more efficient testing

Comprehend product needs to advise on and formulate test automation strategies

Serve as a subject matter expert in application functionality

Design and develop manual Tests for product releases

Formulate, execute, and maintain Test Plans

Conduct manual Tests and document the results

Identify and report root causes for Test failures

Propose recommendations to improve product reliability, usability, and performance

Mentor and cross-train others in manual and automation testing

Qualifications:

Experience:
2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance

Familiarity with Selenium-like automation testing frameworks and automation testing of Web applications.

Experience with REST and SOAP APIs testing

Knowledge of SQA processes and methodologies (manual test processes, black box, white box, and gray box testing, test case design, scripting and execution, automated test tools)

Experience with functional testing of multi-tier Web applications

Experience utilizing issue tracking tools, test case design, and execution

Additional Knowledge and Skills:
Strong communication skills and highly organized

A passion for software testing and solving complex problems with straightforward solutions

Solid understanding of large-scale systems testing

Knowledge of SQL, JSON, and XML

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
