Reporting To: Cheryl Nichols, Assistant General Manager

Work Location: Oakland Ice Center

Employment Status: Non-exempt, part-time

Compensation: $23.86 per hour

Position Summary:

The Supervisor is responsible for managing the facility and overseeing staff under the guidance of the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. This role requires an understanding of jurisdictional limits and the ability to appropriately escalate issues to management.

Shift Requirements:

  • Availability to work two-thirds of each month, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
  • Maintain the ice surface, utilizing proper resurfacing techniques and equipment.
  • Manage all incoming deliveries to the facility.
  • Assess and address daily maintenance and repair needs of the building.
  • Support event operations, including birthday parties and private rentals.
  • Assist with financial close-outs, bank deposits, and cash handling.
  • Secure and count all safe funds at the start and end of each shift.
  • Conduct inventory checks of facility keys and radios before and after shifts.
  • Promote excellent customer service practices among all staff and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Understand and implement emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  • Ensure the facility is secured and locked at the end of each operational day.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must wear the assigned uniform during all shifts.
  • Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff and guests.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a cold environment.
